The Steffenino Orchard is a family owned and operated business, just outside of Indiana, PA, with initial plantings in 2004.
Our main focus is to produce home grown apples that are given the care and time needed to produce excellent flavor and size that cannot be found in stores.
Our average gala apple weighs 1/3 of a lb. with some larger variety's in excess of 1 lb. each....many people have found that only three (3) Jonagold apples are needed to make a pie.
Pesticide use is minimized due to an integrated approach which allows natural preditors of harmful insects to exist within the orchard.....for example, a healthy lady bug population controls aphids.
The orchard is planted on reclaimed land originally mined by The Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company during the 1950's.
Reclaimation by the State of Pennsylvania in 2000.
This year we are proud to also offer local maple syrup from Blairsville's Alacrity Acres located next to Torrance!
Free taste tests.....with several types, we are sure you will find it delicious with your pancakes!!
